What this shelf will not do
Bellis Health exists so you can read six labelled locks, not so a screen can treat you. The medicine notes, the comparison, the short guides, and the letters Dr. Sørensen answers are written to show how a tablet works and where the evidence actually stands. None of that is personal medical advice. None of it diagnoses you. None of it decides what you should swallow or at which milligram. Every shelf-desk answer teaches a general idea. Not one is a plan built for the person who wrote in. Erectile difficulty, in particular, can be the first outward sign of a heart or vessel problem, which is one more reason a real assessment belongs before anyone acts on a price card.
A webpage cannot hold your chart
Nothing here stands in for a clinician who has your notes, knows the rest of your list, and can examine you. This shelf describes how a drug behaves across many people. Your prescriber works out how it fits one person. Treat anything you read as background. Check it against the current FDA label, the EMA product information or MedlinePlus, and take it to someone qualified who can see the whole picture. Write [email protected] only about the notes themselves.
The nitrate rule, twice
This is the sentence we will not soften. Tadalafil, sildenafil and vardenafil must never be taken with a nitrate of any kind: a prescribed heart medicine such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide, or a recreational popper. The combination can send blood pressure crashing. If you take nitrates, or might need emergency nitrate treatment for chest pain, these tablets are not a decision to make from a webpage. Settle it with a doctor first. The same ban covers riociguat, a pulmonary-hypertension drug.
Prednisone is stepped down, not dropped
Prednisone taken for more than a short course must be reduced gradually, never stopped cold, because the body slows its own steroid production while the tablet does the work. Stopping suddenly can trigger a dangerous shortfall. The tablet also raises blood sugar, blood pressure and infection risk, and thins bone over time. Any change to a 5 mg course belongs with the prescriber who started it.
Gabapentin is stepped down too
After regular use, gabapentin should never be stopped abruptly. That can trigger withdrawal and, in people with epilepsy, seizures. It also multiplies the sedation and breathing risk of opioids, alcohol and other depressants. Any change to a 400 mg capsule schedule belongs with the prescriber who started it.
Metformin and the kidneys
Metformin is a first-line diabetes tablet for most people, but it leaves through the kidneys, so it is paused around iodinated-contrast scans and serious dehydrating illness to avoid a rare lactic-acidosis risk. It is not a weight-loss pill and it is not a substitute for the rest of diabetes care. Dose and monitoring are set by the clinician who knows your kidney numbers. The Bellis lock is 850 mg with food.
No one is paying for a sentence
No manufacturer, pharmacy or telehealth service has a stake in this shelf. A brand name appears only to identify a molecule in words people recognise. We sell nothing, ship nothing and endorse no seller. There are no sponsored pages and no affiliate links, so nothing here is steering you toward a purchase.
Outbound links
We link out so you can check the working: FDA, EMA, MedlinePlus, named trials, and official pharmacy pages in a cash window. Those sites are theirs. Every external link carries a nofollow tag.
Dates go stale
Each note reflects the labels and evidence current at its last review. Prescribing information is revised. Trials are superseded. A page is only as trustworthy as the date of its last check. Where this site and a current FDA, EMA or WHO document disagree, believe the official document.
