Portrait of Dr. Ingrid Sørensen in daylight against a pale violet wall

Ingrid Sørensen trained on Copenhagen wards, then added endocrinology and clinical pharmacology. That mix is how a daylight note gets peer-passed on this shelf. She spends clinic weeks with people who arrive on several bottles and one question: what the tablet is actually doing, and whether that explains the symptom in front of her. She answers in that register. Precise about mechanism. Honest when the label is thin. Unwilling to pretend a webpage can examine anyone.

The six locks map onto her week. Three phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors keep a nitric-oxide signal from being broken down after arousal has already started: tadalafil at 10 mg as needed, sildenafil at 25 mg, vardenafil at 20 mg. Gabapentin at 400 mg quiets calcium channels, not the GABA receptor it was drawn to mimic. Prednisone at 5 mg turns inflammation down across the body and must be tapered after more than a short burst. Metformin at 850 mg is taken with food and paused around iodinated contrast.

A few rules she will not soften. The PDE5 tablets must never share a day with a nitrate or with riociguat. Gabapentin and prednisone are tapered, never dropped after regular use. Metformin leans on the kidneys to leave, so a contrast scan or a dehydrating illness is a pause, not a shrug. She repeats those lines because they are the errors most likely to land someone in a hospital.

She is sceptical of the postcard each drug is sold with. None of the ED tablets manufactures desire. Gabapentin helps some nerve-pain and seizure patients and does little for ordinary mechanical back pain. Prednisone can settle a flare and quietly cost bone and glucose if it becomes a habit. Metformin's reputation as an incidental tablet hides how much titration and kidney watching good use takes.

Every reply points at a document a reader can open: the current FDA label, an EMA assessment, a diabetes or endocrine-society guideline, MedlinePlus, a named trial. Write [email protected] if a line on a note conflicts with a bottle in your hand. That mailbox does not prescribe and does not ship. A local clinician still has to sign the lock.
